Yes you can, once you receive the OK from the seller of the changes youre planning on making. You can’t go in and just tear stuff up without them OKing first. And you can only make the repairs on the things that the FHA appraiser pointed out. The time period to fix these things is before the close of escrow. If you don’t fix the problems FHA pointed out, then you wont get the financing. Most of the time, if you extend beyond the closing date, the seller will charge a per diem, so it’s important to move quickly.
yes home buyer can make repairs if loan is approved.. the time varies from contract to contract
If the home is a repo being sold by a bank, the buyer is not allowed to do the repairs. They don’t want to have someone fall off a ladder and break an arm.
In a normal house, you would be asking the seller if you could do the repairs. FHA does not care who does them.
The appraiser must come back out to re-inspect the house so you would want to have the repairs done at least one week prior to your anticipated closing date..
